Inventive Structure
Different from the ordinary brass body mixer taps, we have changed the structure into two basic parts, the inner core and the outside shield pipe, as well as the modification of the thermostatic cartridge, we come up with a very price-friendly yet good performance thermostatic tap.
Plastic Inner Core
The inner core is made of plastic — nylon with 30% glass fiber reinforced, which is well known for its excellent toughness and good abrasion resistance. Plus the fact that the nylon material will get stronger when immersed in water, so there is no need to worry about leakage or broken problems after the taps being used for years.
Stainless Steel Pipe
The outside shield pipe is made of AISI 304 Stainless Steel. This steel contains both chromium (between 18% and 20%) and nickel (between 8% and 10.5%) metals as the main non-iron constituents, which theoretically makes it even more resistant to corrosion than the brass alloy material used in common shower taps.
Thermostatic Assembly
The thermostatic cartridge is the core device of a thermostatic tap, which regulates the temperature of the mixing water and this cartridge usually is made of brass material. However, at Konstaa, we have made some modifications. Instead of the thermostatic cartridge, we utilize “thermostatic assembly” in our system. To be specific, see the below explosion diagram of our tap and the red circled part is what we called the thermostatic assembly. This assembly consists of a spring, wax element, regulator and spindle, which are still the essential components of a traditional thermostatic cartridge, only the original housing part is machined onto the inner plastic core body.
To sum up, based on the above three changes, not only the cost is reduced importantly, but it also remains the same performance functionally.
Thermostatic Element
The thermostatic element, also called the wax element, is regarded as the heart of a thermostatic cartridge, thus wholly deciding the performance of a thermostatic tap. As a matter of fact, we have been producing this part in our factory for the last five years. Fortunately, we have received quite plenty of positive feedback on the wax elements that we have supplied to our customers, which makes us confident that we are capable of controlling the whole thing with our own thermostatic taps.
Surface Treatment
The surface treatment of our taps is also what we have paid much attention to. Not only the taps must be corrosion-resistant, but they also need to be eye-catching. Polishing and electroplating are the surface treatments that we usually apply to the taps.
Polishing
Polishing means making the surface of a product smooth and glossy by mechanical or chemical methods. At Konstaa, our staffs are dedicated to making sure all our products have shiny surfaces which will not lose their glossiness even if being used for a long time.
Electroplating
